We are proud to announce that Alorf Hospital has achieved Platinum Level Accreditation through Accreditation Canada’s Qmentum International program in 2025. This milestone reflects our unwavering dedication to delivering the highest standards of quality, safety, and patient-centered care.

Our journey began in 2012, and with the commitment of our exceptional team, we earned the Gold Level Accreditation in 2013. Today, as promised, we have reached the pinnacle of excellence by attaining the Platinum Level. This recognition reaffirms our focus on continuous improvement and innovation to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients and their families.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our staff, partners, and community for their trust and support as we continue to set new benchmarks in healthcare excellence.

College of American Pathologist (CAP) participation

The College of American Pathologist Proficiency Testing Programs are the largest laboratory peer comparison program in the world. The programs allow laboratories to regularly evaluate their performance and improve the accuracy of the patient results they provide. Through this program, the CAP provides individual laboratories with unknown specimens for testing. The participants analyze the specimens and return the results to the CAP for evaluation. In turn, each participating laboratory receives a report of their performance as well as a report summarizing the results of all participating laboratories.

Alorf Hospital periodically participates in this proficiency testing program.

Randox International Quality Assessment Scheme (RIQAS)

External Quality Assessment (EQA), also known as Proficiency Testing (PT), provides a means of assessing the analytical performance of a laboratory and comparing that performance to other laboratories utilizing the same methods and instruments. RIQAS is used by approximately 20,000 laboratories worldwide. Participation in an EQA scheme will guarantee reliable and accurate results which are essential in toxicology testing. Furthermore, quality results lead to a reduction in time and labour costs associated with false results. As an accredited EQA scheme, RIQAS helps the Laboratory of Alorf Hospital comply with ISO regulations.
